Pentagon Moves to Lift Ban on Transgender Soldiers

The Pentagon is taking steps to allow transgender people to serve openly
in the military by early next year. Calling the ban "outdated," Defense
Secretary Ash Carter said he would appoint a working group to examine
the impact of lifting it.
