Key Voting Rights Trial Opens in North Carolina

A key trial on voting rights opens today in North Carolina. After the
Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act in 2013, North Carolina
passed a series of restrictions, ending same-day registration and
reducing early voting days. A federal judge will now consider whether
those restrictions unconstitutionally discriminate against African
Americans.
