Pentagon to Consolidate Forces in Europe, Keep Levels the Same

The Pentagon is consolidating its forces in Europe and returning 15
sites to their home countries in a purported cost-saving measure. But
the plan will keep U.S. troop levels about the same, with increases in
Italy and Germany, and plans to launch a new fleet of stealth fighter
jets from a base in England.
