Croatia Cancels Debts of 60,000 Poorest Residents

In related news, Croatia has canceled the debts of its poorest
residents. Under a new government plan, an estimated 60,000 low-income
residents will see their debts absorbed by creditors, including local
banks, major telecommunications providers and city governments. The move
comes after more than 300,000 Croatian citizens saw their bank accounts
blocked last summer due to debt.
