U.S. Judge Rejects Retrial Bid from Palestinian Activist Rasmea Odeh

In Detroit, a federal judge has rejected a bid for a new trial from a
Palestinian activist convicted of immigration fraud. Rasmea Odeh was
found guilty of concealing her conviction on bombing charges by an
Israeli military court more than 40 years ago. She says her confession
to the bombings was obtained through torture and sexual assault in
Israeli custody. Supporters say she was targeted by U.S. authorities
because of her prominent support for Palestinian liberation. She faces
up to 10 years in prison and deportation at her sentencing next month.
