December 29, 2015 Central American Countries Reach Deal on U.S.-Bound Cuban Migrants ------------------------------------------------------------------ Central American countries have agreed on a plan to deal with some of the 8,000 U.S.-bound Cuban migrants who have been stranded in Costa Rica. The migrants are trying to reach the United States amid fears thawing relations between the U.S. and Cuba could end U.S. asylum rights for Cubans. Nicaragua closed its border to the Cubans in mid-November. The new plan will see some number of the refugees flown to El Salvador, then put on buses to travel toward the United States. .
