Obama Commutes Sentences of 95 Prisoners

President Obama has commuted the sentences of 95 federal
prisoners—most of them nonviolent drug offenders serving lengthy
sentences, including 40 sentenced to life terms. Obama also pardoned two
prisoners convicted of counterfeiting and bank fraud. The move more than
doubles the total number of commutations Obama has granted since taking
office.
