August 24, 2015 Ohio: Legislation to Ban Abortions in Cases of Down Syndrome ------------------------------------------------------------- In Ohio, anti-choice activists are pushing for a new law that would make it illegal for a doctor to perform an abortion if a woman is terminating the pregnancy because the fetus has tested positive for Down syndrome. Ohio Republican Governor John Kasich, who is running for president, has not said whether he supports the bill, although he has signed a slew of anti-choice legislation since taking office in 2010. .
