Mali: 12 Die in Hostage Situation, Including 5 U.N. Workers

In news from Africa, at least 12 people died in Mali following a hostage
situation at a hotel in the trading town of Sevare. Five of the dead are
U.N. workers. The army said that the gunmen are affiliated with Islamist
group the Macina Liberation Movement.
