Afghanistan: Female Lawmaker Survives Attack; U.S. Soldier Killed 
------------------------------------------------------------------


 
In Afghanistan, a female Parliament member has survived an assassination
attempt. Shukria Barakzai was wounded and three other people, including
a young girl, were killed in the suicide blast. In a separate incident,
a U.S. soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Michael Cathcart, was killed in Kunduz
Province, reportedly from small arms fire.
