L.A. City Council Moves to Ban Fracking in the City

The Los Angeles City Council has voted unanimously to advance a ban on
oil and gas fracking in the city. The motion passed on Friday instructs
the city's attorney to draft new rules that will impose a moratorium on
fracking until environmental protections are in place. Los Angeles would
be the first oil-producing city in California to impose a ban on
fracking.
