Snowstorm Blasts Eastern U.S.

A major snowstorm is blasting the midwestern and northeastern United
States, prompting flight cancellations and school closings. Nearly two
feet of snow had fallen north of Boston as of early this morning, with
up to seven inches in New York City. New York and New Jersey declared
states of emergency, advising residents to remain indoors.
