Obama Proposes to Drop Social Security Cuts

President Obama has dropped a measure to trim cost-of-living increases
in Social Security from an upcoming budget proposal. While the move was
praised by progressive Democrats, the White House admitted the cuts,
known as chained CPI, remain "on the table," but only as part of a grand
bargain deal with Republicans.
