Iraq Holds National Elections, Maliki Seeks New Term

Iraq is holding nationwide elections today, the first since U.S. forces
withdrew in late 2011. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is seeking a new
term in what is expected to be a tight race. The voting takes place
amidst Iraq's worst violence since the sectarian conflict of 2006 and
2007, when tens of thousands were killed.
