House Bill Would Cut $4 Billion Annually from Food Stamps

House lawmakers are set to consider a Republican-backed bill that would
cut food stamps by an estimated $4 billion annually and let states
impose sweeping new requirements on employment for recipients of food
aid. The bill would also allow states to require drug testing food stamp
recipients.
