Ecuador: Parliament Approves Plans to Drill in Yasuni National Park

Ecuador's parliament has approved plans to drill for oil in parts of the
Amazon rainforest following the failure of a plan by President Rafael
Correa to have wealthy countries pay to preserve Yasuni National Park.
The park has been designated a UNESCO biosphere reserve because of its
vast biological diversity.
