Report: U.S. Aided Morsi Opponents Before Ouster

Al Jazeera is reporting the U.S. government helped fund Mohamed Morsi's
opponents in the period before his ouster. According to the
Investigative Reporting Program at University of California at Berkeley,
a State Department initiative to promote Middle East democracy gave
money to a number of opposition activists and politicians, many of whom
backed Morsi's overthrow.
