Obama Backs Temporary Plan to Lift Debt Ceiling

President Obama has tacitly endorsed a House Republican plan to lift the
debt ceiling for the next four months. The measure would lift
enforcement of the federal government's $16.4 trillion borrowing limit
until May 18. In a statement, the White House said it "would not oppose"
the temporary move. A House vote is expected today.
