Colorado Gov. Proposes Universal Background Checks for Gun Sales

A number of states have vowed to tackle gun violence on their own
following the Newtown massacre. In Colorado, Democratic Gov. John
Hickenlooper proposed Thursday to require universal background checks on
all state gun sales. Hickenlooper's plan came one day after New York
Gov. Andrew Cuomo called for tightening the state assault weapons ban
and limiting high-capacity magazines.
