Japan Increases Severity Level at Fukushima Nuclear Plant

Japan has raised the severity level at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear
power plant to its worst point in two years. The move comes one day
after the plant's operator said about 300 tons of water contaminated
with high levels of radiation have leaked from a storage tank into the
ground, reportedly the worst such leak to date. Japan has upgraded the
severity threat from one to three on a seven-point scale, going from
"anomaly" to "serious incident."
