U.S. Sergeant to Be Sentenced for Murders of 16 Afghan Civilians

The sentencing phase is opening this week in the trial of U.S. Army
Sergeant Robert Bales who has pleaded guilty to murdering 16 Afghan
civilians during rampages on two villages last March. A number of Afghan
civilians are due to testify. Bales could face up to life in prison.
