August 2, 2013 Iraq Sees Deadliest Month in More Than 5 Years ----------------------------------------------- The United Nations says Iraq has closed out its deadliest month in more than five years following a wave of sectarian bombings and shootings. In total, the violence killed 1,057 Iraqis and injured more than 2,300 in July. Many of the attacks focused on Iraq's Shiite majority which leads the government. .
