September 4, 2012 Romney Hits Obama on Jobs and Distances Self from Bush ------------------------------------------------------- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney returned to the campaign trail over the weekend after formally accepting his party's nomination in Tampa last week. Speaking in the battleground state of Ohio, Romney attacked President Obama's record on jobs while making an apparent attempt to distance from the last Republican President, George W. Bush. President Obama: "He was going to create more jobs and today, 23 million people are out of work or stopped looking for work or are under employed. Let me tell you, if you have a coach that's zero-and-23 million, you say it's time to get a new coach. We're going to finally have to do something that Republicans have spoken about for a long time and for a while we didn't do it. When we had the lead we let people down. We need to make sure we don't let them down this time. I will cut the deficit and get us on track to a balanced budget." .
