Thousands Protest Oil Pipeline in Western Canada

In Canada, thousands of people gathered outside the provincial
parliament in Victoria, British Columbia, on Monday to protest a massive
oil pipeline. The rally was billed as the largest to date against the
Enbridge corporation's Northern Gateway pipeline project, which would
carry crude oil from Alberta to Canada's West Coast. Critics say it
stands to cut through sensitive environmental areas and First Nations'
land.
