November 12, 2012 Major Flooding in Haiti Adds to Devastation Caused by Hurricane Sandy ---------------------------------------------------------------------- In Haiti, torrential rains and devastating floods have killed at least 11 people and left thousands homeless in recent days just two weeks after the country was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Rivers have overflowed, crops have been destroyed, and aid workers say they are in dire need of supplies. Head Scout Marie Jocelyne Jacques: "We have about 150 people here with only 12 sacks of bread. They gave us four cases of juice since this morning. Also, the World Food Program brought two packs of cookies for each and every one. We have handicapped people here, babies, even women that gave birth here last night. That means we don't have anything for them." .
