May 31, 2012 More Syrian Diplomats Expelled After Houla Massacre ---------------------------------------------------- The Assad regime has faced growing international pressure following the massacre of more than 100 people in Houla last week. On Wednesday, Turkey became the latest country to expel a Syrian diplomat, joining with 12 others. Also speaking at the United Nations, Syrian envoy Bashar Ja'afari denied government responsibility for the killings in Houla. Bashar Ja’afari: "The Syrian government is drastically against this heinous and appalling crime; it's more than a crime, it's a massacre. We established a national commission of investigation and the government and the President gave it three days to terminate the investigation. So we are not talking about three months or three years. Three days. The commission started yesterday, tomorrow or day after tomorrow you will hear it. Those who perpetrated the crime will be held accountable by the Syrian law." .
