Court Ruling Gives Shell Go-Ahead for Arctic Oil Drilling

A U.S. appeals court has given oil giant Shell the go-ahead to pursue
drilling plans in the Alaskan Arctic this year. Alaska Native groups had
opposed the effort, saying the federal government had failed to properly
consider the risks of Arctic drilling. Environmental groups delivered
over a million signatures to the White House this month asking Obama to
stop Shell's plans.
