May 15, 2012 Democrats Accept Corporate Funds for Convention ------------------------------------------------ The Democratic National Committee has reneged on a pledge to stage its convention in Charlotte this summer without corporate donors. The Wall Street Journal reports Democrats have established a fund called New American City to accept convention money from companies including Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Duke Energy. Meanwhile, an online petition is now urging the DNC to move the convention out of North Carolina following the state's rejection of same-sex marriage last week. .
