Iraqi Woman Dies in California After Brutal Beating 
----------------------------------------------------



A 32-year-old Iraqi-born woman died in California Saturday just days
after she was brutally beaten. Shaima Alawadi was found on Wednesday
lying in a pool of blood in her home next to a note saying “go back to
your country." She was a mother of five children, ranging in age from
eight to 17. Her daughter Fatima Al Himidi spoke to the news media after
the beating.

Fatima Al Himidi: "We are speechless. She was such an innocent woman.
Why? Why did you do that? She was a housewife. She is innocent. She
hasn't hurt anybody. She is a mother of five. Why did you do it? I found
her on the floor drowned in her own blood with a letter next to her head
saying 'go back to your country terrorist.' We are not the
terrorist–you are, whoever did it."
