March 14, 2012 Congolese Rebel Leader Convicted in First Hague Trial ------------------------------------------------------ Congolese rebel leader Thomas Lubanga has been convicted of war crimes in the first case to be tried by the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Earlier today, the ICC found Lubanga guilty of recruiting and using child soldiers during the Democratic Republic of Congo's 1998-2003 war. Lubanga is the first suspect to be convicted at the Hague since the court was established a decade ago. .
