Up to 300,000 Protest in Portugal 
----------------------------------



Major protests were held in other parts of Europe. In Portugal as many
as 300,0000 packed Lisbon's Palace Square in the largest rally against
austerity and economic hardships since the country resorted to an
European Union-International Montetary Fund bailout last May.
