Envoy Concerned for Ousted Maldives President’s Safety -------------------------------------------------------------- The protests for ousted President Mohamed Nasheed come as a U.N. delegation has arrived in the Maldives to help mediate the political crisis. The head of the delegation, U.N. Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Oscar Fernandez-Taranco, said he is concerned for Nasheed's safety. Oscar Fernandez-Taranco: "We are concerned about the security of the former President Nasheed.
