August 9, 2012 Pfizer to Pay $60.2 Million to Settle Claims of Illegal Bribes --------------------------------------------------------------- The pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has agreed to a $60.2 million fine to settle allegations of making illegal payments to win contracts abroad. In a complaint filed by U.S. regulators, Pfizer was accused of paying bribes to foreign officials in more than a half-dozen countries to obtain business and increase prescriptions of its products.
