California Fires Prompt State of Emergency in 3 Counties

California Gov. Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in three
northern counties where a wildfire is raging out of control. The
Ponderosa Fire has already engulfed an area spanning 24,000 acres,
forcing 3,000 people to flee their homes.
