August 10, 2012 Oak Creek Sikh Temple Reopens After Shooting --------------------------------------------- Wisconsin's Oak Creek Sikh Temple has opened its doors for the first time since the shooting rampage that killed six worshippers. Thousands of people are expected at a local high school today for a public memorial honoring the victims. The civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson was among those to visit Oak Creek on Thursday to show his support. Rev. Jesse Jackson: "We do not want the Sikh community to feel isolation. We are part of the same family. What we can do in this hour is to share with you a lot of our concerns having being the part of this and we must not limit ourselves and work together rather more closely over long period of time as people are there, turban is there, be it the skin color, but none of us in some way should demean because of our appearances is not fair. It is not right." .
