August 1, 2012 Fatal Car Bombings Close One of Iraq’s Deadliest Months Since U.S. Withdrawal -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At least 19 people were killed and more than 50 wounded in Iraq on Tuesday when two car bombs exploded in Baghdad. The bombings were followed by a suicide attack on a police station in an attempt to free al-Qaeda-linked prisoners. Iraq is coming off one of its deadliest months since the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops, with at least 237 people killed and 603 wounded. .
