U.N.’s Ban Slams Lack of Progress in Syria

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made the comments as U.N.
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon accused Syrian President Bashar al-Assad
of failing to honor a peace plan that went into effect a week ago.

Ban Ki-moon: "Despite assurances from the government, there has been no
meaningful progress on the ground. This is unacceptable. I call on the
Syrian authorities to recognize the full urgency of the situation and
permit U.N. agencies and international relief organizations to organize
a major humanitarian field operation to help those people in need."
