October 27, 2011 Democratic Supercommittee Members Propose To Cut Medicare, Medicaid -------------------------------------------------------------------- In news from Washington, Reuters is reporting Democratic lawmakers on the so-called supercommittee are proposing to make cuts to Medicare and Medicaid as part of a plan to slash the budget deficit by up to $3 trillion. The Democratic plan seeks around $400 billion in Medicare savings, with half coming in benefit cuts and the other half in cuts to healthcare providers.
