Department of Interior Places 20-Year Moratorium on Uranium Mining in Southwest

Conservation groups are praising the U.S. Department of Interior's
decision to place a 20-year moratorium on new uranium mining near the
Grand Canyon National Park and Lake Mead. The decision prevents only new
mining claims.
