November 30, 2011 Ex-U.S. Navy Officer Indicted for 1973 Deaths of U.S. Citizens in Chile ------------------------------------------------------------------------ In Chile, a former U.S. Navy officer has been indicted for his alleged role in the killings of two other U.S. citizens shortly after the 1973 military coup. The officer, Ray Davis, headed the U.S. Military Group at the U.S. embassy in Santiago at the time. He is accused of supplying information on the victims — Charles Horman and Frank Teruggi — to the Chilean military and then failing to prevent their murders. The judge in the case has asked for authorization to seek Davis' extradition to Chile. .
