November 3, 2011 G20 Summit Begins With Agenda Set on Greece, European Debt Crisis ------------------------------------------------------------------ World leaders are gathering in Cannes, France, for the opening of the Group of 20 summit. On the top of the agenda is Greece and the European debt crisis. Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou is coming under intense criticism from European leaders for deciding to let the Greek people decide if they want to accept the conditions of an $179 billion European Union bailout. Papandreou has announced the referendum will take place in early December but, it now looks like his government is in danger of collapsing before then. Earlier today, the Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos publicly came out against the referendum, saying it could jeopardize Greek membership in the Euro. .
