Moratorium on Uranium Mining Near Grand Canyon Extended

In nuclear news, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar has extended
by six months a moratorium on any new uranium mining on a million acres
near the Grand Canyon in Arizona and Utah. Many conservation groups and
Native American tribes are now calling on the Obama administration to
impose a 20-year ban on mining in the area.
