Ex-Tunisian President, Wife Sentenced to 35 Years in Prison 
------------------------------------------------------------



In news from Tunisia, ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and his
wife have been sentenced in absentia by a Tunisian court to 35 years in
prison for embezzlement and misuse of public funds. The verdict came
after a one-day trial. Ben Ali and his wife are in exile in Saudi
Arabia, which refused Tunisian extradition requests.
