June 14, 2011 Obama Reaches Out To Wall Street Executives Ahead Of 2012 Election ------------------------------------------------------------------- While Republican presidential candidates attempted to portray President Obama as anti-business, the Obama administration is making a concerted effort to reach out to Wall Street executives ahead of the 2012 election. The New York Times reports Obama met with two dozen Wall Street executives at the White House a few weeks before announcing his re-election campaign. Obama is planning a trip to New York this month to dine with bankers, hedge fund executives and private equity investors at the Upper East Side restaurant Daniel. In 2008, employees of Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, UBS and Morgan Stanley were among Obama's biggest financial backers. .
