11 Arrested Protesting Budget Cuts

Eleven people, including members of the clergy, were arrested on Capitol
Hill Thursday protesting the Republican budget plan to slash spending in
return for raising the federal debt ceiling. The protesters occupied the
center of the capital rotunda, praying and singing for 30 minutes until
they were arrested one by one. The rally was organized by the president
of Common Cause, the Rev. Bob Edgar.
