January 11, 2011 Tom DeLay Sentenced to Three Years in Jail ------------------------------------------- Former U.S. House of Representatives majority leader Tom De Lay has been sentenced to three years in prison for illegally funneling $190,000 in corporate donations to Republican legislative candidates in Texas. After the sentencing, De Lay was released, pending an appeal. In addition, De Lay will be forced to serve 10 years of community service for a separate felony conviction of money laundering. .
