BP Executive Resigned over Safety Protocols Before Spill 
---------------------------------------------------------



A class action federal lawsuit has revealed that a former BP executive
resigned in late 2009 because of concerns over the company's safety
protocols in offshore drilling operations. Kevin Lacy resigned in
December 2009—just months before last year's massive oil spill. He
was BP's former senior vice president for drilling operations for the
Gulf of Mexico.
