February 15, 2011 Equatorial Guinean Author Enters Fifth Day of Hunger Strike ------------------------------------------------------------ One of Equatorial Guinea's most prominent authors has entered his fifth day on a hunger strike to protest the policies of Equatorial Guinean dictator Teodoro Obiang. The writer, Juan Tomás Ávila Laurel, began the hunger strike on Friday calling for more political rights and an end to the dictatorship. Obiang has ruled the oil-rich West African nation since 1979. .
