February 10, 2011 Firms Planned Attacks on WikiLeaks, Supporters ----------------------------------------------- Leaked emails show three private intelligence firms developed a plan to attack Wiki Leaks and its supporters following reports Wiki Leaks had obtained embarrassing internal documents on Bank of America. According to the Tech Herald, the companies Palantir Technologies, HBGary Federal and Berico Technologies hatched a plan to target Salon.com columnist Glenn Greenwald, a vocal supporter of Wiki Leaks. The plan also called for a public smear campaign against Wiki Leaks, cyberattacks on its websites, and efforts to spark divisions among its volunteers. There is no direct evidence Bank of America knew of the proposal, but it was developed at the request of a law firm that met with Bank of America in December. .
