April 19, 2011 Supreme Court Rejects Appeal From Uighers at Guantánamo --------------------------------------------------------- The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by five Chinese Muslims, known as Uighurs, who have been held without charge at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, since 2002. The Center for Constitutional Rights, which has represented some of the men, criticized the ruling. In a statement, the CCR said: "The practical impact of today's decision is that detainees will remain in America's illegal offshore prison indefinitely notwithstanding their exoneration." .
